Chiropractic for Department of Veteran Affairs
Recongnised Australian Veterans who hold a gold card or white card are eligable for Chiropractic treatment claimed through the government body - Department of Veterans Affairs.
You will have to get a referal from your GP to access 12 treatments under this scheme and revisit your GP after the 12 sessions have been completed for another referal.
GP referal for Chiropractic Care
If you are eligible to do so, through Medicare you are able to get 5 treatments per calendar year for many different health care specialists including Chiropractic. You must go to your GP to obtain a "Referral Form for Chronic Disease Allied Health (Individual) Services under Medicare issued by the Department". This was previously known as an "Enhanced Primary Care" or EPC referal or form.
Nevertheless, 5 treatments on Medicare per year can make a big difference to your quality of life if used wisely! So ask your GP if you are eligible today!
